Our Story

who we are..

Hope Presbyterian Church is a community of people who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Messiah, the Redeemer, "the way, and the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). As a member of the Presbyterian Church in America, our desire is to live out the motto of our denomination: "faithful to the Scriptures, true to the Reformed faith, and obedient to the Great Commission."

Faithful to the Scriptures: The Bible is God's inerrant Word and is relevant for every aspect of our lives. When we gather together for worship, we read God's Word, hear the Word Preached, sing the Word, and pray the Word. Our desire is to be a people who always hear the Word (read/study/discuss it), hold the word (cherish/treasure it), and herald the Word (preach/teach/proclaim it to ourselves and to others)!

True to the Reformed Faith: We affirm the "five solas" of the Reformation, namely that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, on the basis of the Word of God alone, all to the glory of God alone!

Obedient to the Great Commission: Christ made the mission of His church clear in Matthew 28:18-20, and we recognize that the mission that Jesus gave His disciples back then is our same mission today: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
